CLEANPOWER CHOICE
New Jersey CleanPower Choice is the only statewide green power program
of its kind in the country where municipal utilities and green power
marketers combine forces to offer customers the ability to choose renewable
energy. In other states, green power is available to customers through
programs that vary by company or by utility service territory.
The CleanPower Choice program initially was made available to PSE&G
in Jersey City and Jersey City Power & Light in October 2005 and
expanded in April 2006 to include Atlantic City Electric and Rockland
Electric Company territories. More than 3,000 residential and business
customers have signed up for the program to date.
The program is a simple way for anyone to support clean, renewable
sources of energy in New Jersey.
The CleanPower Choice Program from the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities'
Office of Clean Energy is a statewide program that allows you to support
the development of clean, renewable sources of energy.
The more people who sign up for the CleanPower Choice Program, the
more renewable energy sources that will be added to the energy mix.
Nothing needs to be installed and all that changes is that more clean
and renewable energy sources are being used to meet New Jersey's needs.
Diminishing resources, the increasing cost of fossil fuels and the
impact on the environment make choosing CleanPower more important than
ever before. Recent natural disasters and world events reinforce the
need to participate in any conservation efforts available.
