RESIDENTIAL

Recent natural disasters and world events reinforce the need to tap into clean, renewable, and available energy sources.

The New Jersey Clean Energy program puts the power to control energy and save money right where it should be – in your hands. Here are some ways you can do it:

• Rebates on energy efficient furnaces, boilers and water heaters that will keep you warm this winter.
• A simple online energy audit of your home that enables you to find ways to cut your energy usage every month and save.
• Rebates on solar energy systems so you can generate your own electricity - making you more self-reliant.
• Direct installation of energy-efficient measures and more for income-eligible households.

Residential programs include:

• Home energy analysis – save energy. Save money. Learn how.
• WarmAdvantage – rebates to keep you warm in the winter.
• CoolAdvantage ¬– rebates to keep you cool in the summer.
• HomePerformance – save up to 30% on energy costs.
• NJ EnergyStar homes – built to be 30% more efficient.
• New Jersey for EnergyStar – look for energy efficient products and where to find them.
• ComfortPartners – energy affordability for income-eligible households

EnergyStar products are use less energy. To earn the EnergyStar, they must meet efficiency criteria set by the US Environmental Protection Agency or the US Department of Energy. Since the products use less energy, they save money on electricity bills and protect the environment by causing fewer harmful emissions from power plants. Some examples:

• ENERGY STAR qualified refrigerators are at least 15% more efficient than the minimum efficiency standard.
• ENERGY STAR qualified light bulbs (CFL's) use two-thirds less energy than a standard incandescent bulb and must meet additional operating and reliability guidelines.
• ENERGY STAR qualified furnaces offer a rating of 90% AFUE or great, which is about 15% more efficient than the minimum federal efficiency standard.
